During 2005, the Endowment Committee has managed the assets of the various endowments and has been available to interested members of the congregation for endowment planning.

The purpose of the Endowment program at 1st Church is to expand and enrich the mission of the congregation. The Endowment Program is not intended to support the annual operating budget, except where authorized in the terms of the gift. All principal amounts are retained and only the income is expended.

There are two types of endowments:
A) Restricted where donor directs the activity to receive the income.

B) Unrestricted where the income may be used for:

• Outreach to meet human need

• Scholarships for theological education

• Capital improvements at 1st Church
