In accordance with the Book of Order: The Constitution of the Presbyterian Church (USA), Section G-14.0202b a Nominating Committee was formed. Members were: Sandra Boyce, chairperson, Elder; Carole Hermes, Elder; Chris Brinton, Deacon; Pat Sankus, Trustee; Judy Cox, Presbyterian Women; Sarah Johnston, UPY; and three members at large: Carlton Tappan, Priscilla Crowder, and Fred Dawson. The pastor, Stephen Hundley, served as ex-offico without a vote as designated by the Book of Order. The Nominating Committee is chosen annually. No member shall serve more than three consecutive years.

The committee met several times to evaluate the skills, talents and gifts of congregational members, made many phone calls and tried to match the person’s abilities with the available position. The following names were submitted to the congregation for their approval to serve in the Class of 2008, Elders: Robert Crowder, Robert Lasher, Alan Silliman and Ann Negstad. For the Class of 2008, Deacons: Cynthia Munro, Denise Reyne, Nancy Black and Judy Agnello. For the Class of 2008, Trustees: Ned McIlvaine, Scott Sheldon, Dana Shepherd and Robert Schantz. For the Class of 2007, Trustees, John Winter. Training was given as required to all officers of First Presbyterian Church with Elders and Deacons being ordained and Trustees being installed at congregational meetings.

During the year we have received, with regret, resignation letters from: Mindy Hidenfelter, Robert Lasher, Bernie Alexander, Sandy Boyce, Paul Stoecker and Tatiana Guile.
