With Music Education degrees from Juniata College, Huntingdon, PA (B.A.) and Columbia University, NYC (M.A.), Carol has taught classroom music and choruses at all levels in public schools in PA, NJ, and NY. She developed church handbell touring choirs in Morris Plains, NJ and Endicott, NY, along with a professional community handbell choir in Binghamton, NY area. She served as Chairman of Area II (PA, NJ, NY) of the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers, and now serves as DE state representative to Area III of this Guild. Ms. Coughenour has conducted National Festivals and many area/grassroots Festivals, as well as Clinician for National Seminars/Conferences and Workshops. As AGEHR Nat’l Music Chairman from 1992-1995, Carol wrote Music Review columns for OVERTONES, the national publication of AGEHR. In addition to her handbell activities, Carol presently gives private piano lessons in her home studio and Sanford School, Hockessin, DE.
